Former Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura is in talks with Middlesbrough about a possible loan move to Teesside according to the Spanish media. Shunsuke Nakamura is well known by Gordon Strachan and with the inevitable departure of Adam Johnson to Manchester City, it looks like Strachan is wanting more creativity in the midfield and is hopeful of brining the Japanese international to the Riverside.
Nakamura, who is 31-years-old, can play anywhere along the middle which would give us extra options when going forward. If we do get hold of the current Espanyol number 7 it would mean five former Celtic players would be in the Middlesbrough squad. Can anyone else see a little pattern emerging here?!
The deal needs to be thrashed out very soon if we are to land the free-kick expert. Time is running out, make haste Gordon.
