It looks like Adam Johnson will be leaving Middlesbrough today after reports have confirmed that the 22-year-old is on his way to Manchester for a medical ahead of completing a £7 million move from the Riverside.
The Premier League club had a first bid for the winger turned down by Boro on Friday but now, after a late bid yesterday evening, it looks like Middlesbrough officials have accepted that offer for our left winger.
With the news that Adam Johnson is on his way to the City of Manchester Stadium it means that Strachan can concentrate on putting the finishing touches to the Lee Miller and Scott McDonald transfers.
Fingers crossed we don’t muck this up because if we do let Johnson go without signing a replacement goalscorer the Boro board will certainly have egg on their faces.
