Apparently it is set in stone, according to the many tabloids and news vines, Adam Johnson will be leaving the Riverside in January.
We are slowly coming to terms that the wing wizard will be leaving us for pastures new and pastures great enough to make him a better player. It is without any doubt that he is the best player within our ranks since the likes of Stewart Downing and Tuncay were sold.
Losing Johnson will be a massive loss for Strachan’s side and replacing him will almost certainly be a impossible task. We are talking about something special when we say Adam Johnson and if the 22-year-old is to move on the question is, which team would make him a world class footballer?
We know that there is already rumours linking Johnno with Sunderland and because he was born there it might be a fair bet to say he will want to join his home-town club but seriously he is a talented winger and would definitely benefit from playing at a top four club in the Premier League. No disrespect to Sunderland there by the way.
If Johnson is able to produce moments of magic with the current crop of Boro players around him now, just think what he would do if we saw him playing in the red of maybe Liverpool or Manchester United? For me Liverpool would be the best destination for AJ, he would suit their style of play right down to the ground and Liverpool fans would appreciate trickery and end product whilst the Anfield outfit would also give him the best chance of making the World Cup in South Africa next summer.
Where would the Boro fans like to see him go if he does leave Teesside in January?

Trobule is in a good team Johnno wouldn’t see the ball half as much as he does now. He’s our only outlet and hogs the ball way too much, but when there’s no other option there’s not much else we can do.

He would suit Liverpool down to the ground. Not sure if Liverpool will have any money in January for him though. What are we looking at 5-6million???

To be honest he would probably do better at Sunderland that at a tope four club. He would get games under his belt in the Prem if he went there. It’s inevitable that he’s going because it’s a world cup year and every player that has a chance wants to move to a better team. Good luck to him, he’s a top player.

He’s off to Sunderland in January. £6million. With that money we can buy a decent striker. How about get Alves back…
Johnson is a good player but as Ady said he hogs the ball. We would have dominated teams this season if he had passed the ball more often. Not slated him though because he is a cracking player and will be a future England player ahead of Downing and Young.

Really is a quality player – at least i got that impression from the U21 Euro finals
Can’t help but think a top 4 club would be a bad move for him…he needs regular games. Not sure Sunderland would be ideal either tho – although where has Southgate/Stachan been playing him this year?
