Anyone else would of walked by now he knows he surley knows hes lost the crowd and if johnsons right wing second half performance is anything to go by hes starting to lose the dressing room. There was only 18500 there on tuesday night and i fear gates will get worse, this is like the end of the lawrence years, hopefully we can relaunch a new era on the back of a new manager. Sorry gareth but now is the time to die on your sword, give your notice and relaunch another great era!

I agree with Phil's comment about missing out on Martin O'Neil. am gutted that we didn't get him, maybe if we did we would be sat in the position which Villa are in now. Southgate for me has never showed any improvement in his managerial skills and because of this, it has to be time to give him the chop. Get rid please !!!

Why are we still playing two lightweight strikers up top against big defenders? Clueless again. For a team that is looking to gain promotion at the first attempt - losing two home games in the manner we have is unforgivable. We half expect to be beaten 1-0 at home by teams like Everton and Aston Villa but not Leicester City. I suspect Gibbo and Lamb have given Southgate five games left to put things right otherwise he will be sacked.

Everything else aside, just look at any individual player that we gave signed over the past few years and compare their performance before and after joining Boro. The results say a lot about our club, it's coaching, Southgate's tactics and the clubs attitude over all.

I HAD 3 red book tickets. And have gone and supported the team since 1974. I go and pick my games now. If I am paying £90 i expect to be seeing an attractive game of football. I went to the west brom game, need I say more. It will be a long time before I visit the riverside again. I do agree with most people now and say that G.S. must depart the club. I also have to put some blame at the feet of the board. Firstly for installing another untried manager. And for not providing him with the money that would allow G.S. to purchase players who would get us out of the championship. We did have these players with us. I believe if the board were serious about us getting back into the premier, they would have kept Huth at least. Since he has departed it has gone pear shaped. If we did get into the premier, would the chairman provide money to purchase the quality of players that would be required to stay up, never mind challange. I don't think so. Come on Mr Gibson, I thought you were a ruthless buisness man. Get you finger out.

It's the Management of the team, no question. 3 subs were used to our detriment at the weekend when we we're controlling the game, why?

I like Southgate as a player & person, the reality is he is not a quality Manager yet & continues to learn his new trade, we are suffering as a consequence.

Had we have taken O'Neill on as Manager 4 years ago would we really be in this position, I think not?

There are fundamental changes required at the club at the highest level, unfortunately this won't happen, we all know Gibson & his unwillingness to make changes (or move on himself?!).

I live in London & each season relish the London games as a result, missing very few. As it stands, i'm struggling to look forward to Reading on Saturday. I really do feel the club is settling into life as an also ran team. I can't justify the cost & potential waste of my personal time, when I have such concerns over the poor Management in general of the team & club. Very sad after recent years of relative success.

I will always support my home town club but feel enough is enough.

Finally for all the 'stop moaning & just support your club' people, of which there are many. I feel they are the fans equivalent of the poor Management at the club, blind to the severity of the situation, unless of course they are happy with mediocrity going forward, I for one am not.

If we can't get it right in the Championship we deserve to stay out of the top tier. How much longer are we going to give Southgate!
i thnk, boro need a chnge n their attitude.that chnge will come only by changing the manager.we have given enough opportunities to southgate to prove his class.but he failed in premier league & now he is failing to deliver in championship.we have to make decision as quickly as possible.otherwise we will find ourselves struggling to get aplace in playoffs.this is b'cos other teams likke cardiff, preston are doin wonders this season..............so we need a chnnnnnnnnnge..............

Last night's abysmal display summed up Southgate's reign, inept, clueless, toothless and limp. Surely the time has come where his position is untenable, the last time I saw such division in a crowd was towards the end of the Robson era. The blinkered blind-faith idiots in the south-east corner whose rose-tinted glasses are matched only by those of Alistair Brownlee are the only people in the ground (barring the board it seems) who can't see it. The end is nigh Gareth, resign and go out with a bit of dignity while a handful of supporters are still with you. Last night's performance is unnaceptable.

The defensive frailties cannot be fully blamed on the players. The problem has been getting progressively worse during the GS reign. 7 points dropped in 07/08, 13 in 08/09 and 4 already this season all through goals conceded in the last ten minutes (and that doesn't even count the games in which goals were conceded but the game already lost e.g WBA this season). This problem lies with the ability of the coaching staff to get the teams fit enough and mentally strong enough to last 90 minutes. Something that GS blatantly cannot do. He has to go.
